As a life-long resident of Floyd County, I have been dedicated to serving the citizens of my community. I am a 1992 graduate of New Albany High School and attended Indiana University Southeast. I have been married to my wife Sherry for 17 years and have 4 children.
For 22 years I have been a certified police officer. Four years with the Harrison County Sheriff's Department, and 18 years currently with the Floyd County Sheriff's Department. I currently hold the rank of Merit Lieutenant and I am assigned as the commander to first shift. I have held several different positions throughout my career including: Detective, Field Training Officer, SWAT Commander, CRT Commander, 2nd & 3rd Shift Commanders, and an executive staff position.
While employed with the Floyd County Sheriff's Department I graduated from Indiana Wesleyan University with my bachelor's of science degree in criminal justice. I have also graduated from the Southern Police Institute's Administrative Officer's Course at the University of Louisville.
Over the past few years I have seen a lot of progress to New Albany and like many of you, I was happy to see the revitalization of our downtown. However, the current administration and many of the city council members have put New Albany on a misguided track. I feel it needs a new, more financially protected direction to continue to build a prosperous city for future generations. I would love a chance to do my part in creating solutions that will help put New Albany on a better, more secure track.
There is also a lack of transparency in city government, and the city council needs leadership with a vision for the future. When elected I will have a VISION of a better New Albany.
I will work tirelessly to IMPROVE our city; all of our city.
INVEST in neighborhoods with better infrastructure by ensuring safer ways to walk, run, bike and drive.
I will IMPLEMENT a new level of transparency, where you’ll know where every dollar is spent.
I will also push to be more INCLUSIVE; in our New Albany, everybody will count.
